TV and Film Producer/Director

Milad Bessada has produced and directed every genre of Television show for over 30 years in the US, Canada, Europe and around the world as well as two major theatrical Feature films.

He has spent two decades training TV Directors, Anchors and other TV personnel in Canada, Europe and the Middle East.

2003 to Present:

He is presently producing and directing in the Washington area several shows for TV Satellite Networks and resides in Maryland’s Eastern Shore. He is currently head of Production and Executive Producer of North America Productions of the ART TV Satellite Network. He produces the shows out of the Reuters TV Studios in downtown Washington.

1993 – 2002:

He was contacted in Canada to go to Italy to set up the Transmission Facility of a new Satellite Network. He trained all the Directors, Presenters, Producers, air coordinators and other staff. The facility eventually was transmitting 12 Channels simultaneously 24/7. He later moved to Production headquarters of the Network, created, developed, produced and directed most of the Prime time shows of the Network and trained the Producers and Directors and Anchors to take over the shows.

1974 – 1991

Milad Bessada was Network Executive Producer of the Global Television Network based in Toronto, Canada. He created, developed and directed many of the Network’s prime time shows and trained the Directors to take over production and directing duties. Among those shows, he produced and directed the first two years of the immensely successful Comedy series “SCTV, Second City Television” which launched the careers of Film stars John Candy, Catherine O’Hara, Dave Thomas, Andrea Martin and others. He was executive producer of the Jerry Lewis Telethon in Canada, the Santa Clause Parade, Country music show “Easy Country”, Docudramas and the Canadian live Lotteries shows .

Prior to 1974:

Prior to 1974, he was Producer and Director at CFTO TV, The flagship Network of the CTV Television Network. He produced and directed Comedy shows, Daytime drama shows,
Live News casts and the animated children’s series "The Waterville Gang."

Theatrical Feature Films: Produced and directed two major feature films. "A Quiet Day in Belfast" (1974), starring Margo Kidder and Barry Foster. The film earned Margo Kidder the Best Actress Award in the Canadian Film Award.

The second film is "Search for Diana" (1992) starring Diana Calenti and Brett Halsey. The film received accolades at the Montreal World Film Festival and the Cairo International Film Festival 1in 1992

Milad Bessada has a Masters degree from Cambridge University in England
